What, when and how much?
This is a 2 centre expedition with an ascent of Toubkal 4167m, the highest mountain in North Africa together with an expedition down to the edge of the Sahara!
This expedition will allow participants to experience the best of Morocco; from the Souks around the Djemaa el Fna with all the sights, sounds and smells under fantastic Minarets and palm trees, a vibrant cultural experience.
An informal evening and presentation to find out more, ask questions, be inspired and book on to this expedition will take place on Monday 8th March 2010 in the Loch Kinord Hotel, Dinnet. All Welcome!

The cost of this 2010 expedition and inspirational lifetime experience is;

Week 1 only    Sat 25th Sept to Sat 2nd Oct    incl      £700
Week 2 only     Sat 2nd Oct to Sun 10th Oct    incl      £850

Book both and a discount is available at £1375 for both weeks.

Itinerary

An ‘inspirational expedition’ to Morocco in 2010.

Week 1 only
Sat 25th Sept Fly from Scotland to Marrakech; Transfer to Riad Omar
26th                  Minibus to Imlil (2hrs); Stay in Gite in Arumd (2000m).
27th                  Trek to Toubkal Kasbah (3207m) 15Km and 1200m of ascent on good tracks/paths
28th                  A trek around the base of Toubkal to acclimatise, possibly Lac D’Ifini
29th                  Summit Jebel Toubkal (4167m) 8Km and 1000m of ascent; return to Kasbah Toubkal
30th                  Trek back to Arumd and relax in Gite.
1st Oct 2010      Travel back to Riad Omar Marrakech and spend the rest of the day exploring the Souks and Minarets of Marrakech
Sat 2nd              Travel back to Scotland or free time to explore Marrakech

Sat 2nd Oct Fly from Scotland to Marrakech; Transfer to Riad Omar, Marrakech, meet Week 1 participants.
3rd                     Minibus to Tagdilt (6/7hrs); Stay in Gite D’Etape, Tagdilt
4th                    Trek to Almo Warg/camp; 5/6 hrs with 15-20kms
5th                    Trek to Igli/camp; 5/6 hrs with 15-20kms
6th                    Trek around the Igli valley
7th                    Trek to Handour/Gite; 6/7 hrs with 15-20kms
8th                    Trek to N’Coub; 5/6 hrs with 15-20kms; Transfer to Kasbah Bahabaha
9th                    Travel back to Marrakech; A day exploring the Souks and Minarets of Marrakech
Sun 10th            Travel back to Scotland

Grade This expedition is graded as challenging.

Accommodation
We will be staying in a combination of hotels, tents, gites and kasbahs.

A supported ascent of Toubkal and trek through the Jebel Sahro.  Guides, permits, all meals, water


Whats not Included?

Flight costs to Marrakech/return this will allow you to extend your stay to visit other areas of Morocco. Edinburgh/Gatwick/Marrakech/return for £250 approx.
Inoculations (you are advised to seek personal medical advice from your GP or Travel Clinic)
Travel insurance (you are encouraged to take out full personal travel insurance to cover cancellations, medical expenses, repatriation, etc.
