Explore the Rum Cuillin
EXPLORE THE RUM CUILLIN - NEW HOLIDAY FOR 2010!!

What, when and how much Once known as the Forbidden Island and now a haven for wildlife, the Isle of Rum is owned by Scottish Natural Heritage and is famous for its distinctive peaks and spectacular coastline. Although the pinnacles of the Cuillin Ridge do not reach Munro status this ancient volcano rises to over 800m and provides some superb ridge walking with stunning views. Some of the island’s mysterious history may also be revealed by visiting its Edwardian sandstone castle, a Greek style mausoleum and archaeological remains from the many deserted settlements. http://www.isleofrum.com/
This Walking Holiday will take place from Friday 16 April to Monday 19 April 2010.

Itinerary
On the Friday morning we will drive from Deeside to Mallaig, picking up others en-route, and take the Cal-Mac ferry across to Rum. Our bags will be transported whilst we take the short walk from the ferry to the Kinloch Castle Hostel where we will be staying.
On the Saturday and Sunday you will have the option of taking a high level route along the Cuillin Ridge or of staying at a lower level and exploring various points of interest around the island. Or perhaps you would like to walk high one day and enjoy a slightly easier walk on the other day.The choice is yours.
Whilst on Rum we plan to make use of the ranger service to learn about some of the projects being undertaken on the island and to help us interpret some of the things we see.
