Mountain Walking Holiday description The Rough Bounds of Knoydart So near and yet so far – just a 15 minute boat ride from Mallaig and you enter a remote, awe inspiring, rugged terrain that is Knoydart.  Accessible only by sea or on foot, much of the Knoydart peninsular was bought by the Knoydart Foundation in 1999 and since then they have worked hard to enhance the area for residents and visitors whilst retaining the magic and unspoilt beauty of its mountain landscape. For this long weekend leave the hectic pace of life behind you and meet the challenges of three epic Munros with their soaring ridges, spectacular corries and stunning panoramic views. Testimonials “The first sighting of Knoydart after leaving Mallaig just blew me away; a truly magical place.  Thereafter I loved everything – the little ferry, the scenery, the accommodation, the food, the company and, of course, the walking.  And, if that wasn’t enough, the weather was perfect.” “Spring flowers all along the lochside, an early morning sighting of an otter, a dotterel high up on Ladhar Bheinn and just amazing views in all directions.  The hill walks were simply the best and I can’t wait to return with WalkDeeside on their next trip.” “My first holiday with WalkDeeside was to Knoydart back in 2005.  I enjoyed it so much that I have been walking with them ever since – Fisherfield in 2006, Torridon in 2007, Kilimanjaro in 2008 and Morocco in 2009.  And now I am deciding which holiday to choose in 2010!
